Futures Without Violence
Courageous Conversations

Futures Without Violence created an event series called Courageous Conversations, hosted at the Courage Museum of San Francisco, a brand new space dedicated to helping visitors imagine a world without violence, hate, and discrimination. The series has four offerings — Storyteller Summit, Parent Education, Youth Engagement, and Professional Learning — all designed to help us address some of today’s toughest topics.

The inaugural Storyteller Summit featured a series of discussions with the brave individuals who shared their experiences with gender and race-based discrimination and violence. Their stories will be featured as part of the Empathy Mirror installation, a groundbreaking interactive storytelling experience in the upcoming Courage Museum.

The second Storyteller Summit brought together storytellers, filmmakers, and producers for a day of courageous conversation and reflective practice all centered around the power of personal story to build empathy and connection. The event continued the bold visual identity established at the inaugural summit.

A third gathering centered on community, connection, and collective action, exploring how storytelling can drive both individual and collective healing. Guests were invited into reflective conversations designed to cultivate empathy and courage, drawing on practices woven throughout the Courage Museum experience.
