QuestBridge Team Retreats

When COVID closed the doors of QuestBridge’s physical offices, the organization, like so many other nonprofits, transitioned to a fully remote model spanning multiple time zones. What could have created distance instead inspired a new tradition: an annual team retreat designed to bring everyone back together in person.
The most recent retreat brought the team to Nashville. With a number of colleagues already calling it home, it offered a rare chance to step into one another's everyday lives, trade the video grid for in person conversation, and close out another year of remote collaboration face-to-face.

The 2024 retreat returned to where QuestBridge began. For longtime team members, San Francisco was familiar ground. For those who'd joined during the remote years, it was a first: a chance to walk the streets of the city that shaped the organization and feel connected to something larger than a screen.

Austin set the stage for a retreat built around connection. With a mix of structured programming and open time to simply be together, the team moved beyond the rhythms of remote work and into something more human, building the kind of trust that only comes from being in the same room.

The first gathering was held in centrally located Chicago. Colleagues shared everything from favorite foods to working styles as icebreakers, because after two years in lockdown they were meeting face-to-face for the first time. They returned home not only with souvenirs, but as a more connected, collaborative team.
