Events come to life in so many ways, and one of those key touchpoint is print. From books to backdrops to signage, we extended CalCCA’s design system across every piece of media allowing attendees to get up close and personal and take a little piece of it home with them.
Car Wrap
Cars offer advertising on the go, so what better way to spread the word for a travel agency than an ad in motion. We wrapped a Mini with art advertising First Reisebüro and their specialized group tours.
Expo System
An event system is designed as a true system, from the biggest backdrops to the smallest details — like the corn hole game played between sessions at Electrification 2024.
Shirt
Custom printed t-shirt created for a global clean energy forum. Attendees of the Global Forum for Nuclear Innovation (GFNI) loved them, and so did we.
Rock‘n’Roar Poster Series
The newly renovated Cesar Chavez Ravenswood Middle School hosted a community event, showcasing its programs along fun activities and games. Their mascot, a lion, shown in their school logo from the side, was altered to roar straight at you with various accessories and vibrant colors for extra attitude.

For the Electrification 2022 International Expo, we upcycled mailing boxes and custom designed them with the event branding to showcase all of the different sponsors. The cubes were grouped in two locations of the convention center—one leading to the plenary sessions and the other at the entry of the main exhibit hall.

Each participant of the fundraising rally of 50 Ferraris driving from San Francisco to Lake Tahoe, received this Driver’s Handbook illustrating the scenic route they were to follow as well as the rules, schedule, app info and a list of their fellow participants.

Now that remote work is a feature of modern life, QuestBridge started hosting team retreats so employees from a range of time zones, many of whom had never met before, could enjoy a little in-person bonding. The first one was held in centrally located Chicago, where staff covered everything from favorite foods to working styles, and left as a more bonded team, even taking home souvenirs to enjoy IRL.

Vyou, pronounced like ‘view’, is a Roku channel for experimental filmmakers. The business cards were built around the colorful bokeh branding, with a playful diecut hole through the O for people to look through as if framing their view like a director.

From large scale fabric panels flanking the stage to playful QB25 cardboard cubes designed as an interactive, Instagrammable logo, the entire design of the QB25 summit was bright and colorful, just like the scholars who attended. Stickers, silkscreened apparel, notebooks, and other branded swag rounded out the collection.

AutoVia is a pioneering tech company that provides risk assessment to insurers and owners of autonomous vehicles. To illustrate the strength and stability of the company, we use duplex stock for their business cards, and added the yellow color edging of the signature black and yellow we designed for them, to represent the roads and the cars they insure.

We created a 100+ page book to celebrate the 25-year milestone of Global Fund for Women. With five chapters featuring five different articles each, we focused on a wide variety of stories to cover the breadth and depth of the success of the Fund over their long tenure, ending on a future looking chapter. The colorful book design also extended over the full system of projects for the 25th anniversary event, including save the date card, invitations to both galas, and anniversary stationery.

Gala Invitation
For the 40th anniversary celebrations of the Women’s Foundation of CA, we extended the event branding with a full spectrum of colorful flowers to a double gate-fold invitation. Each side of the invite was dedicated to its own gala, designed to add gravitas to the double celebration in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Event Design System
Vinyl, fabric and paper were among the various substrates printed to amp up the venue of EPRI’s Electrification 2018, an international conference and expo. Pieces included a wide range of sizes from attendee nametags and buttons to swag like t-shirts and tote bags all the way up to large 40-foot indoor and outdoor hanging banners.
T-shirts
Based on a superhero theme, we created this new logo for Addison Elementary School’s annual fundraising auction. The logo was screen printed on a special-edition line of spirit apparel to be worn by both kids and adults. The bright primary colors and fresh design approach were just what these “Super Incredible Kids” and their “Superhero Supporters” needed to summon their powers for educational excellence. (The palette we chose worked perfectly on all t-shirt color options.) Whoosh!

A vibrant palette inspired by breathtaking landscape photography set an energetic tone on the save-the-date, invitation, program and signage pieces. We kept our gala-goers active with a special scavenger hunt that had them exploring the event environs, meeting new people, and sharing it all on social media.

Shammies & Bags
No scratchy, bland glass-cleaning papers here, no way. Squintless sends out soft shammies with all their orders. Among the many designs we created are these bright, geometric and eyeglass shapes (printed four colors on cloth). They’re fun, sexy and easy to find in a dark purse or overstuffed drawer. For those that never put their glasses away, the ingenious cases can alternatively hold a smartphone. Makes you want to keep your glasses clean, doesn’t it?!

With glamping as our inspiration, the invitation was die cut in the shape of a tent that opened to reveal the event logo and details. In keeping with Sierra Club’s mission, we chose 100% post-consumer waste recycled paper for all elements in the invite package, which also included sponsor list, reply card and envelope. At the event, attendees received additional designed elements, like program and menu.

Thanks to a well-placed slit in the diecut duplex cardboard, this tree could stand straight forever. Gold metallic foil adds just the right touch of holiday sparkle.

Restaurant Branding
As part of our full branding effort for the Palo Alto Grill, we developed a classic, rich look-and-feel using gold foil and dark coloring on the coasters and business cards, extending out to menus, napkins, and across the interior, wrapping the entire restaurant in old-world charm.

Wedding Invitation
These handmade wedding invitations were hand curled into heart shapes to whimsically observe this Valentine’s Day wedding celebration. They were mailed out in a small red box, just like they were a gift for the recipient. The invitation was featured in HOW and Print.

We designed Meli Meli’s whimsical logo to complement the essence of the clothing, and extend the vintage playfulness across the entire identity. This small but impactful promo, coupled with the seasonal look books and business cards, had business booming from five boutiques to over 100 within just one season.

Gentiae monitors and manages cardiac data for clinical trials. The press kit we developed featured lenticular image insets that allowed users to see multiple medical images per square to help illustrate the breadth of their offerings.

DVT Trial Collateral
With 12 hospitals signed up for their DVT trial, Bacchus Vascular required a comprehensive and flexible information package to educate physicians and patients about their product. The materials were designed to pay special attention to what could be used across all hospitals and what needed to be customized for each trial site.

Special Event Design System
Marking their 20th anniversary, the Global Fund for Women held TWENTY, a special gala to celebrate the momentous achievement. For the celebration, we created the Annual Report that summarized their achievements over the past two decades, and developed the look for their event, including invitation package, menu, and stationary.
